Sri Lanka, March 22 -- Sri Lanka will give preference towards importing more 'electric vehicles'as and when the import ban of motor vehicles is removed, said Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchanan Wijesekera at the Cargills USAID EV charging project yesterday. This will result in more private sector companies investing in providing more charging stations/points and also invest in similar RE based infrastructure projects in the country as they will see an increase in demand for these RE based solutions. He also said that the government target/vision of achieving 70% power generation via RE in 2030 is on track.
