Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today (06) that the time when economic benefits were kept by a few wealthy families is over. Speaking at the Central Provincial Council Auditorium in Kandy, he said the government's main goal is to make sure the country's growth reaches ordinary people.

The President stressed that the law will apply to everyone equally, no matter their status or past positions. He said the government will move from a "crony-focused" economy to a "people-focused" one, helping those who have been left behind.
