Sri Lanka, Dec. 31 -- Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Mujibur Rahman stated that the government had implemented certain measures to ensure the successful passage of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) budget during its second reading.

He noted that no SJB MP was present at the time of the vote today, explaining that he had switched off his phone since yesterday.

MP Rahman added that the absent MP had previously assured that he would participate in the voting.
