Srilanka, Feb. 5 -- The United National Party (UNP) has launched its Smart UNP digital drive, aiming to reposition the party to engage with younger generations and adapt to the country's growing digital society, party leader and former President Ranil Wickremesinghe said.
Speaking at the launch held yesterday (04) at party headquarters Sirikotha, Wickremesinghe stressed the need for the party and the country to move forward with new generations shaped by digital technology.
He said earlier leaders created systems suited to previous generations, referring to development periods associated with Baby Boomers and Millennials, but noted that the present era belongs to Gen Z, a generation born into a fully digital environment.
