Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- The government is committed to ensuring that working people are protected from gender-based violence and harassment in order to ensure a dignified workplace, said Minister of Labour Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando.
The Minister pointed out that the relevant basic principles have already been included in the government's policy statement "A Rich Country, a Beautiful Life".
Minister Fernando said this while addressing the National Workshop on the Ratification of ILO Convention 190 on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the workplace, marking a major milestone in the country's journey towards creating safer and more inclusive workplaces.
