Sri Lanka, Feb. 17 -- Deputy Health Minister Hansaka Wijemuni said yesterday that the Government possesses the political maturity to distinguish between the genuine grievances of doctors and the political agendas of the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA).

Addressing the media in Kandy, Deputy Minister Wijemuni remarked that while the GMOA claims their strike action is intensifying daily, the reality is that the protest action is weakening. He asserted that the Government is prepared to resolve the professional issues faced by medical officers, but cannot address the issues raised by the GMOA, as they are politically motivated.
