Sri Lanka, Sept. 27 -- Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunnetti told Parliament that the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) Ranga Dissanayake is not a political appointee.
The Minister said that applications for the post had been called, interviews were conducted and Dissanayake was selected in a transparent manner.
"All procedures regarding the appointment have been followed according to the Anti-Corruption Act. This selection was made on January 1, 2024," Minister Handunnetti said.
