Islamabad, Sept. 9 -- AN ASSESSMENT by The Economist has it that as the US and NATO draw down forces, "the Taliban have reclaimed much of the country. After almost 20 years of war with America, the Taliban control ever more territory in Afghanistan". America has "failed to defeat them". And Osama Bin Javaid has reported for Al Jazeera that "the United Nations is concerned about more than 50,000 people who have [recently] been displaced from their homes due to violence in Afghanistan's Kunduz province. The Taliban has recently captured four army bases, despite talks with the government to end the fighting".
