Nairobi, March 17 -- Celebrated journalist Rita Tinina has passed away.

Ms Tinina was expected to be on duty on Sunday but failed to report prompting a search at her Kileleshwa home where she was found dead.

Nation Media Group Editorial Director Joe Ageyo has confirmed.

Rita was the Output Producer, Broadcast Platforms at NTV.

The family has requested privacy at this difficult time.
