Nairobi, Feb. 8 -- The High Court has suspended the elections for lawyers' male representative to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), which was slated for later this month.

The court stopped the elections following a petition by city lawyer Ishmael Nyaribo accusing the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) elections board of discrimination for blocking him from contesting the February 29 elections.

Justice John Chigiti said the elections should not proceed unless Mr Nyaribo's name is included in the list or until the petition is determined.
