Uganda, Oct. 17 -- Ugandan long distance runner Jacob Kiplimo, 19, has won the men's race at the World Half Marathon Championships in a record time of 58:49.

Not even the Coronavirus pandemic could stop the youngster as World record breaker, Joshua Cheptegei finished in fourth position with record time of 59:21. This was Cheptegi's first attempt at marathon.

Following Jacob's win and Cheptegei's performance, President Museveni and the First Lady who doubles as the sports minister took to twitter to congratulate the duo for representing their country.
