Uganda, Oct. 12 -- Police in Buikwe District are investigating the theft of laboratory equipment and worth unspecified millions of shillings from Bukaya Health Centre II in Njeru Central Division.

The facility is under the management of Church of Uganda.

The Ssezibwa region Police Spokesperson, Ms Hellen Butoto, on Sunday said the incident happened at around 4 am on Saturday.

According to her, unknown people who are still at large accessed the health centre that was not fenced, broke into its stores and fled with several equipment.

"A case of the break-in was reported at Njeru Police Station by the in-charge of the facility, Mr Emmanuel Magino, who resides within the facility," Ms Butoto said.
