Sri Lanka, Sept. 29 -- The Petitions against draft 20th Amendment to the Constitution was taken up by the Supreme Court today.

A five-member Supreme Court bench was appointed by the Chief Justice to consider the Petitions filed against the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.

The members of the bench are Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Buwaneka Aluwihare, Sisira De Abrew, Priyantha Jayawardena and Vijith Malalgoda.

A total of 39 Petitions have been filed against the draft 20th Amendment in the Supreme Court as of this morning.
