Sri Lanka, Dec. 7 -- The government will appoint a committee to streamline the process of drafting a new set of laws to govern the affairs of the landmass reclaimed from the sea under the Colombo Port City project, Daily Mirror learns.
The project was launched in 2014. Under it, 269 hectares of land were added to the territory of Sri Lanka. The previous government carried out some work regarding the evolution of new laws to govern the financial and administrative activities of the new landmass. However, it could not complete the task.
The new government has decided to have a fresh look at the whole process and appoint a committee to work out a few pieces of legislation to be enacted by Parliament.
