Sri Lanka, July 6 -- Cricketer Kusal Mendis, who was arrested over an accident, was released on bail by Panadura magistrate Chandana Kalansuriya today.
He was released on two sureties of one million rupees each by the magistrate.
Lawyers appeared for the cricketer promised in court to offer one million as compensation to the victim and Rs. 200,000 of the amount was paid today.
He was arrested following an accident that killed a 64-year-old man at Horethuduwa in Panadura, this morning, Police Spokesman Jaliya Senaratna said.
