Sri Lanka, Feb. 24 -- Speaker Karu Jayasuriya yesterday denied the reports that he has asked for a national list slot to enter the next Parliament from Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa.
Issuing a special statement, Mr Jayasuriya said he had not met Mr Premadasa or Mr Wickremesinghe or MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara at any time.
He denied meeting anyone either at his official residence or elsewhere.
Meanwhile, sources close to Speaker Jayasuriya told that he had not decided whether to contest the election or not.
