Sri Lanka, May 22 -- To make way for a national government, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa reluctantly submitted his resignation at 9.32 pm on May 9, 2022. This was not because of the peaceful agitation or a presidential request to appease the masses, but because of the backlash to the violence instigated at Temple Trees.
