Sri Lanka, Nov. 12 -- Former MP Milroy Fernando said yesterday the Election Commission (EC) Chairman had informed them that there were no documents submitted to the EC to verify whether SLPP presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa had relinquished his US citizenship.
Speaking to the media after meeting the EC Chairman, Mr. Fernando said they submitted a letter to the EC requesting him to show the certificates and documents submitted by Mr. Rajapaksa to certify that he was no longer a US citizen.
