Sri Lanka, Jan. 18 -- The ban on operation of drones within Sri Lankan airspace has been lifted, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said.

Accordingly, it said drones could be operated in conformity with the normal civil aviation regulation.

The use of all drones and unmanned aircraft within Sri Lankan airspace was suspended with effect from April 25, 2019.

The decision was made after taking into consideration the then security situation of the country in the aftermath of Easter Sunday attacks.
