Mumbai, May 14 -- Multinational technology group Wilo has signed a cooperation agreement with Abu Dhabi-based Masdar, the UAE's leading clean energy company, to jointly drive renewable energy adoption and energy efficiency initiatives. The agreement marks the start of a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening both firms' presence across the Middle East and other global markets.
The signing took place at Wilo's newly expanded production facility in Dubai and was witnessed by Hendrik Wust, Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, during his delegation's visit to the region.
Oliver Hermes, President and CEO of the Wilo Group, highlighted the partnership as a model response to the global energy crisis. "Expanding renewable generation and energy efficiency must go hand in hand," he said, underscoring the role of strong collaborations in addressing climate challenges.
Husain Al Meer, Director Global Offshore Wind & UK at Masdar, described the partnership as a synergy of Masdar's green energy expertise and Wilo's energy-efficient heating and cooling technologies. "This agreement aligns with our vision for a cleaner, more efficient world and deepens our ties with Germany," he said.
Wust praised Wilo as a symbol of industrial transformation, noting how the company's innovations represent the shift from traditional energy to sustainable technologies. He added that partnerships like this are vital to making NRW Europe's first climate-neutral industrial region.
