
Mumbai, Feb. 13 -- The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL) has issued a tender for implementing a 6 MW floating solar project at the PPSP Upper Dam, Purulia Pump Storage Project Site, West Bengal. The project is part of an ongoing renewable energy initiative, which includes a 10 MW floating solar project currently under construction. Interested bidders must submit their proposals by February 17, 2025, with bid openings scheduled for February 19, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of Rs 6 million (~$69,243.69). They should have prior experience in executing solar projects, having planned, designed, engineered, manufactured, procured, supplied, installed, tested, and commissioned:
One grid-connected solar project of at least 2.5 MW capacity, OR
Two projects with a minimum capacity of 2 MW each, OR
Three projects with a minimum capacity of 1.5 MW each in the last five years.
Additionally, bidders must have provided comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for these projects. The projects must have been operational for at least one year between commissioning and the bid submission date. Documentary evidence must be furnished, including:
Monthly generation data,
Completion and performance certificates covering at least one year,
Proof of grid connectivity and actual grid energy injection from the grid licensee.
Joint ventures/consortiums of up to three partners are permitted, provided at least one or all partners collectively meet the qualification criteria.
Project Scope and Timeline
The scope of work includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the floating solar project. The selected bidder must also provide comprehensive O&M services for five years. The estimated cost of the project is Rs299.4 million (~$3.45 million). The project must be completed within a year from the award date.
