Mumbai, April 3 -- SPML Infra has entered into an exclusive agreement with Energy Vault, USA, a global leader in sustainable energy storage solutions. This collaboration aims to accelerate the manufacturing and deployment of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) in India through a technology transfer initiative. By integrating Energy Vault's B-VAULT Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) technology and VaultOS EMS software, the partnership is set to strengthen India's green energy infrastructure, enhance grid stability, and facilitate the seamless adoption of renewable energy sources.
The agreement is expected to enable SPML to deploy multiple gigawatt hours (GWh) of BESS in India, supporting the country's energy transition efforts. Over the next 12 months, a minimum of 500 megawatt hours (MWh) of energy storage capacity is planned, with a long-term target of manufacturing 30-40+ GWh of BESS over the next decade. Localized production will allow SPML to leverage cost efficiencies and its deep market expertise, ensuring competitive solutions within India's growing energy storage sector.
Designed to meet short to medium-duration energy storage needs, the B-VAULT system offers integrated battery storage solutions that prioritize reliability, flexibility, and sustainability. The system's adaptable enclosure architecture allows for the use of various battery and inverter suppliers, while its AC-coupled and DC-coupled configurations provide seamless integration for different projects. Advanced safety and cybersecurity features, combined with VaultOS EMS integration, enhance operational efficiency and affordability, making it a robust solution for India's expanding clean energy landscape.
This partnership marks a significant step toward strengthening India's renewable energy capacity and ensuring a stable, cost-effective power supply.
