Mumbai, April 9 -- The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and WRI India have partnered to enhance green skills within India's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), focusing on climate resilience and sustainability. This collaboration targets capacity building across key sectors like clean energy, green construction, and sustainable mobility, essential for India's green economy transition.

Recognising the MSME sector's significant role in employment generation and economic output, the initiative aims to equip workers and entrepreneurs with the skills necessary for decarbonisation and climate-friendly practices. It includes curriculum development, industry-led training programs, and policy frameworks to bridge the gap between traditional operations and environmentally sustainable models.

The program will also integrate climate literacy, energy efficiency, and circular economy concepts into vocational training modules. This effort aligns with India's commitment to a low-carbon growth trajectory and reflects the rising global need for green-collar jobs.

By fostering sustainability at the grassroots level, NSDC and WRI India are supporting MSMEs to become resilient, competitive, and future-ready, contributing meaningfully to the national agenda of inclusive and sustainable development.
