Mumbai, Feb. 28 -- Mumbai Metro Line 3's Phase 2A extension, which will run from Aarey to Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli), is expected to begin operations by March 2025. Currently, the metro operates between Aarey and BKC, with the extension now set to link critical locations such as Dharavi, Dadar, Siddhivinayak, and Worli.

Trial runs have already been conducted successfully on the 9.77-km stretch between Dharavi and Acharya Atre Chowk. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) shared a video of these trials and station visuals on social media. These trials are essential to ensure the metro's operational efficiency and passenger safety before the full-scale commercial launch.

This extension will reduce travel time across South Mumbai's congested areas, enabling commuters to travel from Aarey to Worli in just 36 minutes, bypassing the traffic bottlenecks on Lady Jamshedji Road and Dr Annie Besant Road. Metro fares will range from ?10 to ?60, offering a cost-effective alternative to taxis and private vehicles.
