Mumbai, April 9 -- In a significant move to improve Delhi's infrastructure, the government has approved the construction of a dedicated road corridor along both sides of the Sahibi River, stretching from Dhansa to Basai Darapur. This initiative aims to provide an alternative route for commuters, thereby reducing traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity in key areas of the city.
Additionally, four major road stretches previously managed by the Public Works Department (PWD) have been officially transferred to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for better expansion and maintenance. These include:
* Delhi-Rohtak Road (NH-10): Peeragarhi to Tikri Border (13.2 km) * Delhi-Rohtak Road (NH-10): Peeragarhi to Zakhira (6.8 km) * NH-2 (Mathura Road): Ali Village to Ring Road, Ashram Junction (7.5 km) * NH-148A (MG Road): An 8 km stretch
The decision to relocate the police station near Dhaula Kuan Metro Station has also been made to facilitate the creation of a dedicated slip road from NH-48 towards Naraina, aiming to eliminate a significant traffic bottleneck in the area.
These developments are part of a broader effort to transform Delhi's road infrastructure into a modern, well-connected, and congestion-free network, aligning with the government's commitment to enhancing urban mobility and reducing traffic challenges in the capital.
