Mumbai, March 29 -- The Ministry of Tourism, under its Capacity Building for Service Providers (CBSP) scheme, is actively fostering skill development in the tourism and hospitality sectors across both urban and rural areas. The initiative aims to educate, train, and certify tourism service providers, enhancing their capabilities and promoting employment opportunities in the industry.
Key Training Programmes under CBSP The CBSP scheme encompasses a range of skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling initiatives, including:
Hunar Se Rozgar Tak (HSRT): A programme focused on skill-based employment opportunities.
Entrepreneurship Programme (EP): Designed to equip individuals with the skills required to establish their own ventures in the tourism sector.
Skill Testing & Certification (ST&C): A re-skilling initiative that assesses and certifies existing tourism service providers.
Tourism Awareness Programme (TAP): Aimed at creating awareness and encouraging community participation in the tourism industry.
The information was provided by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in a written response in the Rajya Sabha today. The scheme is a crucial step towards enhancing rural tourism and strengthening India's position as a globally competitive tourism destination.
