
Mumbai, March 5 -- Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL) has issued a tender for setting up a 125 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) under the build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) model with viability gap funding (VGF) support.
Bidders must submit proposals by March 23, 2025, with bid openings scheduled for March 24. The minimum bid capacity is 5 MW/20 MWh, while the maximum is 125 MW/500 MWh.

Only commercially established technologies will be considered to ensure reliability and timely commissioning.
Eligibility Criteria Bidders must have:
A minimum annual turnover of Rs 30 million (~$344,000) in the last three financial years A positive net worth This follows BSPGCL's 2023 solar bid, which invited proposals for 20 MW ground-mounted solar projects on private ponds using raised mounting structures under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model.
