Mumbai, April 1 -- Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah today unveiled a grand statue of Maharaja Agrasen, inaugurated a newly constructed ICU, and laid the foundation stone for a PG hostel in Hisar, Haryana. The event was attended by Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini and other dignitaries.
Highlighting Haryana's cultural and historical significance, Shah praised Maharaja Agrasen's governance model, which promoted collective prosperity without burdening the state. He likened Prime Minister Narendra Modi's welfare initiatives-housing, healthcare, and economic upliftment-to Agrasen's principles.
Shah underscored the Modi government's strides in healthcare, citing Rs 640 billion spent on public and community health centres, the expansion of AIIMS from seven to 23, and a commitment to establishing a medical college in every district within five years.
He also lauded Haryana's governance, emphasising transparency in job allocation, agricultural contributions, and sports achievements. Under Modi's leadership, Haryana's central funding tripled, with significant investments in infrastructure, roads, and railways.
