New Delhi, Feb. 23 -- There are two things to note in Indian retail. One is that the mom and pop stores will survive. That much is clear. But there is not much space in the middle. Consolidation is happening in a big way at the top and soon we will be left with only the large players. Secondly, going ahead in the future, it's quite easy for an offline giant to get into ecommerce or an online giant to open retail stores if it wants to. In fact that's why many mergers in the world happen to be an online-offline marriage.
