New Delhi, May 28 -- CIPET, the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology has today got a new name. It will now be called the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET). Further, it will also be under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.

According to DV Sadananda Gowda, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, the university will now fully devote itself to the petrochemicals sector. Also, It will teach and upskills students in the same, and continue to support India in Technology and R&D.
