Mumbai, Jan. 12 -- Volkswagen has witnessed a record-breaking sales of 6.24 million units globally in 2018. In terms of percentage, the company has witnessed a growth of 0.2 per cent as compared to 2017. The growth in sales is primarily attributed to demand for SUVs which has witnessed 38 per cent growth in 2018. The share of SUVs in the overall sales has increased to 19.2 per cent in 2018 from 13.9 per cent a year ago. The company claims that every fifth Volkswagen delivered to customers was an SUV.
