India, March 20 -- Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have jointly announced that the Vitara Brezza compact SUV will be produced at Toyota India's plant (outside Bengaluru) from 2022. This is expected to be the second generation Vitara Brezza and will be sold with Toyota badging.

This announcement succeeds the previous one - made in the latter half of 2018 by both Japanese automakers - with regard to Toyota selling a cross badged version of Maruti's successful compact SUV.
