Mumbai, Feb. 1 -- The initiative aims to shift from traditional sightseeing to experience-led tourism by enhancing visitor infrastructure, offering curated cultural experiences, and improving connectivity.

The Finance Minister also proposed the creation of a National Institute of Hospitality to bridge academia, industry, and government, strengthen India's services economy, and boost foreign exchange earnings. Additionally, she launched a pilot programme to train 10,000 tourist guides across 20 iconic sites through a 12-week hybrid training course developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management.
