Mumbai, Nov. 25 -- The headline equity indices traded with minor gains in the afternoon trade. The Nifty traded above 26,000 level. Realty, PSU bank and pharma shares advance while media, IT and consumer durables shares declined.

At 13:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex added 146.98 points or 0.19% to 85,058.30. The Nifty 50 index added 48.55 points or 0.18% to 26,006.05.

In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.01% and the S&P BSE Small-Cap index rose 0.13%.

The market breadth was positive. On the BSE, 2,015 shares rose and 1,977 shares fell. A total of 197 shares were unchanged.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 5.13% to 12.56.
