Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday accepted Rs 44,790 crore in its three-day Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction, against the notified amount of Rs 50,000 crore.

The auction saw bids worth Rs 44,790 crore, all of which were accepted. The cut-off rate stood at 5.49%, with the weighted average rate also at 5.49%.

The operation is part of the RBI's ongoing liquidity absorption measures to manage surplus cash in the banking system.

On Friday (8 August 2025), the central bank had conducted two separate VRRR auctions, of three-day and six-day tenures, absorbing a total of Rs 1.59 lakh crore from the system against the notified Rs 3 lakh crore.
