Mumbai, May 29 -- The frontline indices traded with minor gains in the afternoon trade, tracking positive cues from broader Asian markets and firm Wall Street futures. Investor sentiment was buoyed after a U.S. federal court blocked former President Donald Trump's proposed Liberation Day tariffs. The Nifty traded above the 24,750 mark. The market is volatile due to the monthly expiry of the Nifty F&O series today.
Metal, realty and pharma shares advanced, while PSU bank, FMCG and private bank shares fell.
At 13:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, rose 12.31 points or 0.02% to 81,331.84. The Nifty 50 index added 8.25 points or 0.03% to 24,759.45.
