Mumbai, May 6 -- The key equity indices ended with moderate losses today, snapping a two-day gaining streak. The negative movement was driven by a sharp decline in the broader market, which fell over 2%. Additionally, the rupee weakened against the dollar, further weighing on sentiment. Investors remained cautious amid rising geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Market participants are also awaiting the outcome of the upcoming US Federal Reserve meeting and key economic data releases. The Nifty ended below the 24,400 level. Barring the Nifty Auto index, all other sectoral indices on the NSE closed in the red.
