Mumbai, Feb. 8 -- The domestic equity indices traded with deep cuts in the afternoon trade. The Nifty traded below the 21,750 mark after hitting day's high of 22,011.05 in early trade. Financial Services shares declined after advancing for the two consecutive trading sessions.

At 14:26 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, tumbled 746.05 points or 1.03% to 72,287.19. The Nifty 50 index slipped 216.70 points or 0.99% to 21,713.80.

In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap added rose 0.34% and the S&P BSE Small-Cap index shed 0.27%.

The market breadth was negative. On the BSE, 1,677 shares rose and 2,136 shares fell. A total of 105 shares were unchanged.
