Mumbai, Feb. 10 -- U.S. energy firms this week added oil and natural gas rigs for a second week in a row for the first time since July 2024, energy services firm Baker Hughes said in its closely followed report on Friday. The number of active rigs drilling for oil and gas in the U.S. rose by 4 to 586, a week after the count rose by 6. Despite the week's rig increase, Baker Hughes said the total count was still down 37 rigs, or 6% below this time last year. Drilling rigs targeting crude oil in the U.S. added 1 to 480, while natural gas rigs gained 2 to 100 and 6 rigs were classified as miscellaneous.
