Mumbai, March 12 -- A report released by the Labor Department today showed that the US consumer price index edged up by 0.2 percent in February after rising by 0.5 percent in January. Excluding food and energy prices, the core consumer price index gained by 0.2 percent in February following a 0.4 percent increase in January. The annual rate of consumer price growth eased to 2.8 percent in February from 3.0 percent in January. The annual rate of core consumer price growth also slowed to 3.1 percent in February from 3.3 percent in previous month.
