Mumbai, May 13 -- UK retail sales surged by 6.8 percent on a like-for-like basis in April 2025, marking the fastest pace of growth in over three years. This strong rebound follows a 4.4 percent decline seen in April 2024. The British Retail Consortium said the improvement was partly due to Easter falling in April this year, unlike last year when it was in March. Favorable spring weather also played a key role in lifting consumer sentiment and boosting spending.
