Mumbai, March 26 -- UK's annual inflation rate eased to 2.8% in February 2025, down from 3% in January, driven by a sharp decline in clothing prices which dropped 0.6% after rising 1.8% previously. Price growth slowed for recreation and culture at 3.4% and housing and utilities at 1.9%, while food inflation remained steady at 3.3%. Transport costs edged higher to 1.8% from 1.7%, and prices in restaurants and hotels rose faster at 3.4%. Core inflation, which excludes volatile items, fell to 3.5% from January's nine-month high of 3.7%. Monthly core prices rebounded 0.4%, reversing a 0.4% fall in January, marking the highest level in four months.
