Mumbai, March 12 -- Japan's producer prices increased 4.0 percent year-on-year in February 2025. This marked the 48th consecutive month of producer inflation, with costs rising for transport equipment, petroleum, coal, and machinery, while chemical products, iron and steel, and lumber saw declines. On a monthly basis, prices remained flat after a 0.3 percent rise in January, defying expectations of a 0.1 percent drop.
