Mumbai, June 27 -- Japan's unemployment rate stood at 2.5% in May on a monthly seasonally adjusted basis, according to a report by the nation's Statistics Bureau, released on Friday.

The figure came in line with expectations and is the same as last month's rate.

The job-to-applicant ratio stood at 1.24 in May, lower than last month's, meaning there were 124 job openings for every 100 job seekers.
