Mumbai, Feb. 28 -- Japan's industrial production declined 1.1 percent month-over-month in January. This marked the third straight monthly decline, driven by sharp contractions in production machinery 12.3 percent, electronic parts 5.4 percent, and electrical machinery 5.1 percent. Year-on-year, output rebounded 2.6 percent, reversing a 1.6 percent drop in December and posting its first growth in three months.
