Mumbai, Nov. 28 -- Japan's industrial production index rose to 104.6 in October, up 1.4% from September and 1.5% from the previous year, according to a report from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), released on Friday.
The indexes for shipments and inventories went up by 1.3% and 0.6% month-on-month, respectively, while the inventory ratio fell 1.3%.
Compared with a year earlier, inventories and the inventory ratio declined 1.7% and 1.1%, respectively, while shipments rose 0.8%.
