Mumbai, Dec. 29 -- The seasonally adjusted industrial production index in Japan observed a monthly decrease of 2.6% to reach 102.0 in November, the country's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) said in a preliminary report on Friday.

Compared to the same month in 2024, the figure went down by 2.1%. Meanwhile, the shipments index decreased by 1.6% month-on-month to land at 100.7, and was down 1.7% year-on-year. The inventories index came in at 97.3, dropping 3% compared to the previous month and falling 4.1% when compared to November 2024.

The inventory ratio stood at 104.0, unchanged on a monthly basis and down by 1.1% on an annual one.
