Mumbai, May 30 -- Japan's industrial production fell 0.9 percent month-over-month in April, reversing a 0.2 percent gain in March. It was the second decline this year, led by sharp falls in production machinery, transport equipment excluding motor vehicles, and fabricated metals. On a yearly basis, output rose 0.7 percent, slowing from 1.0 percent in March but extending growth for the third straight month.
