Mumbai, July 4 -- Japan's household spending jumped 4.7% year-on-year in May 2025, reversing April's 0.1% dip. It was the fastest annual gain since August 2022, driven by government stimulus. Strong rebounds were seen in furniture, clothing, food, and transport. On a monthly basis, spending surged 4.6%, the biggest rise in nearly four years.
