Mumbai, Oct. 20 -- Retail sales in China increased 3% year-on-year in September, the latest report by the National Bureau of Statistics published on Monday showed.
The figure was higher than expected and dropped from last month's increase of 3.4%.
Consumer goods sales in urban areas increased by 4.4% year-over-year, whereas the increase in rural areas amounted to 4.6%.
China's industrial production rose by 6.5% year on year in September, while growing 0.64% on a monthly basis, according to a report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released on Monday.
